Prenatal to Five Relational Health Subgroup (P5RHS)
The Prenatal to Five Relational Health Subgroup (P5RHS) is a part of the legislatively mandated Children and Youth Behavioral Health Work Group (CYBHWG) that exists to provide annual recommendations to the Governor and the Legislature to improve behavioral health services and strategies for children, youth, young adults, and their families. The CYBHWG’s vision is that every Washington child, youth, and young adult – and their families and caregivers – are thriving. The CYBHWG was established in 2016 and is managed by the Washington State Health Care Authority. The P5RHS is one of five CYBHWG subgroups and was created to ensure that the unique needs of children and families navigating the prenatal, perinatal, and early developmental stages of children through the age of five are represented in mental, emotional, and behavioral health policies impacting them (and the wide range of providers that partner closely with them).
The P5RHS convenes a series of meetings each year, bringing together partners and stakeholders with lived experience and those working across sectors to prioritize and propose recommendations for Governor and Legislature consideration for upcoming Legislative sessions.
The Center for Early Relational Health (former WA-AIMH) has participated in this effort since 2017 and serves as a co-lead for the P5RHS. Learn more by visiting here: Children and Youth Behavioral Health Work Group (CYBHWG) | Washington State Health Care Authority.
