Supporting children with alcohol and/or drug exposure and their families: An informed approach to intervention and supports

June 16 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Prenatal substance exposure (PSE) can have long-term impacts on a person’s development and supporting children and families impacted by PSE requires a shift from traditional approaches in parenting, therapy intervention, and family support. Approximately 1 infant is diagnosed with neonatal abstinence syndrome every 24 minutes, and about 1 in 7 pregnant people report drinking alcohol. The high prevalence of PSE means it’s likely current providers have these children on their current caseloads, even if they aren’t aware of it!

After completing this training, participants will be able to identify the impacts of prenatal drug and/or alcohol exposure on a developing child and provide support, interventions, and resources that meet these children and their families’ needs. Register now.
