Provider Learning Series: Fathering Children & Youth with Special Health Care Needs and Disabilities

Being a father is hard and rewarding. That may be even more true when your child has special health care needs or disabilities. This session will explore the role of fathers and father figures in assuring good outcomes for children and youth with special needs.

In this session, we will:

• Look at challenges and barriers fathers may face and services and resources that can support positive outcomes.
• Learn how the Washington State Fathers Network is building community among fathers of children with special health care needs and disabilities and opportunities to help expand their reach.
• Learn about the Office of the Education Ombuds and how they help families navigate challenges in schools.
