Learning to Look: Video Microanalysis Informs Mother-Infant Treatment

PIM Conversations: We’re excited to introduce PIM Conversations—a year-round virtual series bringing together clinicians, researchers, advocates, policymakers, community leaders, and people with lived experience in perinatal and infant mental health. Held every other month, each conversation will feature a compelling presentation followed by time for reflection, discussion, and connection. Our goal is to create an ongoing space where we can learn from one another, deepen our work, and strengthen collaboration across the field.

We are honored to launch the series with: Learning to Look: Video Microanalysis Informs Mother-Infant Treatment Featuring Beatrice Beebe, PhD, Clinical Professor of Medical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Beebe is an internationally renowned researcher and psychoanalyst whose pioneering work in the microanalysis of mother-infant interaction has transformed our understanding of early nonverbal communication, infant development, and the therapeutic relationship.
