SUMMARY:Assessment IS Care: Building Rapport from the Start
DESCRIPTION:Assessment IS Care: Building Rapport from the Start\nwith Emily Anderson\, MA\, LMFT\, IMH-E\nAll practitioners working with young children and families hope to establish safety and comfort in the working relationship from the very beginning of care. At times\, the assessment process can present challenges or even feel in conflict with this relational approach. A crucial skill in maintaining a state of safety and comfort is the ability to self-regulate; practitioners who can do this will be better able to promote rapport and stay connected throughout the sometimes lengthy assessment period. \nThis training offers an opportunity for practicing self-regulation in the context of assessment and to shift our framework to see assessment as the beginning of care in and of itself. \nThis training is being offered at no cost by the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Workforce Collaborative (IECMH-WC) to birth-through-age-five mental health providers serving children and their families enrolled in Apple Health (Medicaid). \nRegister at here.
